Edward Mercer

Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales

Edward Mercer leads the firm's practice in telecommunications and the Electronic Communications Code, advising operators, infrastructure providers, and emerging communications businesses on the construction of systems, site rights, and the regulatory questions that arise in a fast-moving sector.

In addition to his sector specialism, he conducts a broad commercial practice, including significant commercial and property litigation, and acts in the firm's niche alternative investments practice on behalf of both issuers and investors. He also provides security trustee services where required by the structure.

Edward read Economics and Law at Trinity College, Cambridge (MA), and has practised as an English solicitor for over four decades. He has held senior positions in a succession of City and London-based firms, building specialist practices in communications, commercial litigation, and alternative investments.

Our Approach

Four principles, observed strictly.

01

Sector specialism

A recognised practice in telecommunications, the Electronic Communications Code, and the regulatory questions faced by communications start-ups and innovative entrants.

02

Breadth of practice

Beyond our sector work, we maintain a general commercial practice with substantial experience in commercial and property litigation.

03

Alternative investments

A niche capability acting for both issuers and investors in alternative investment structures, with security trustee services available where required.

04

Senior conduct of matters

Each instruction is conducted personally by senior lawyers, from first conversation through to resolution.
